SHPE San Francisco Bay Area

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, SF Bay Area Chapter invite you to join us for our next general meeting at Macy's Technology. We will have special guest speaker, Gavin Hall, give a tech talk and demo on Artificial Intelligence. Hope to see you there! -- Gavin Hall leads the Gigafactory Artificial Intelligence group at Tesla, whose projects include optimal control of distributed systems, computer vision, and predictive analytics. He has previously worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. He received B.S. degrees in Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics from West Virginia University, and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his research in robotics led to a route planning startup for autonomous delivery and ride-sharing vehicles in Singapore. When not helping robots to become much smarter than he is, Gavin loves appreciating the finer things in life: country music, David Lynch flicks, board games, and hanging out with his girlfriend Dawn in or around SF. -- As always, light refreshments will be provided. There are limited parking spaces in front of the building. The nearest BART station is Montgomery and then a ~7 minute walk down New Montgomery St to Hawthorne/Folsom St.
