In Showdown, two improv teams go head to head to complete an improv challenge for the approval of two judges and the audience- THATS YOU!
What kind of challenge are we talking about here? It could be anything! Maybe its an improv form or style of edit or old schol opening. One week they could be judged on their grounded observational work and the next week their genre prowess. Teams that come back week after week can't be one trick ponies; they have to be real rootin'tootin' bandits. (Did I mention there is a vaguely Western theme?)
Comedy nerds will enjoy watching skilled comedians manuever through the challenge. Comedy fans will enjoy the hillarious sets they will create. Power-hungry critics will enjoy getting to vote at the end deciding who wins glory and who goes home in shame.
And EVERYONE will enjoy the bedazzled cowboy hat that crowns the winner.
