About this event

Join us for a shiitake log inoculation workshop with Matt Neff of Mu Mushrooms. Mu Mushrooms is a small mushroom farm that uses reclaimed logs to grow edible mushrooms on the east side of Madison.

In the workshop, Matt will teach us about the mushroom life cycle, methods for growing at home, and care tips for inoculated logs. Participants will use power tools to drill holes in logs, inject mushroom spawn, and seal the logs with wax. Everyone will leave the workshop with an inoculated log of their own and the confidence to repeat the process at home.

Participants should bring a sack lunch for a break around noon and dress to be outdoors. Logs will need a shaded area to grow.
