About this event

The Organizing Committee of Hương Đạo Buddhist Temple respectfully announces the updated schedule for the Shine with Loving-Kindness Festival, to take place on August 16 -18, 2024, coinciding with the filial piety season of Parents’ Day (July 13-15 of the lunar calendar), at Hương Đạo Buddhist Temple - 4717 E. Rosedale St., Fort Worth, TX 76105.

In our endeavor to create a festival that radiates compassion to all sentient beings and fosters prayers for global peace, longevity for our family, and a peaceful rebirth for our departed relatives on the special occasion of the filial piety season of Parents’ Day (Vu Lan), we extend a heartfelt invitation to all associations, sponsors, and friends to joyfully join us. Each person lights a candle for prayers, creating a festival full of love and spirituality.

The festival will span three days, from August 16 to 18, 2024 with vegetarian food court and gift shops, featuring musical performances, inspirational presentations, lion dance and especially the lighting of 10,000 Loving-Kindness candles to spread Loving-Kindness and Wisdom to all beings.

The Dhammacetiya is a complex of stupas to be built at Huong Dao Buddhist Temple in Fort Worth, USA, with two main purposes: to preserve and propagate Buddha's original teachings from the Three Pāḷi Baskets (Tipiṭaka); to teach meditation for mindful living by providing short-term and long-term retreats for everyone to study, learn, and practice meditation regardless of ethnicity, race, or religions.

Our events celebrate the value of loving-kindness, mindful living and other Buddhist and Vietnamese culture and traditions.
