New to junk journaling? Learn the basics, create an About Me page, and discover what to include in your junk journal all while in community!
About SHINE U
SHINE U is a House of Shine program that highlights the “H,” “I,” and “E” of our SHINE Framework: Hobbies, Interests, and Experiences. These workshops are designed to introduce participants to new hobbies, interests, and creative experiences in a low-pressure, welcoming environment.
About This Workshop
New to junk journaling? This beginner-friendly introduction class is the perfect place to start.
Facilitated by Amanda Sapera, participants will learn the basics of junk journaling and explore how everyday materials like receipts, food wrappers, stickers, notes, photos, ticket stubs, and other small mementos can be used to preserve memories in a creative way.
Together, we’ll talk through what junk journaling is, what kinds of items you can include in your journal, and simple ways to begin telling your personal story visually. Participants will also create an “About Me” page as a starting point for their journal.
No prior journaling or art experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and something to journal in.
