MomentumDance Collectiveis a nonprofit dance company founded in 2008 and made up of artists whosework is rooted in thecollaborative approach.Momentum's vision is to create opportunities for dancers to produce original work and to nurture the creative spirit in both performers and audiences alike.They continue to collaborate withmusicians, visual artists, photographers, filmmakers, and other visionaries, to create everything from short works to expansive full-length showson sites and stages all over Anchorage.They are committed to working collaboratively to produce new, evolving, and excellent work in Anchorage and support the developing artistry of their dancers through performances, work in the schools, and outreach programs.

Shine is back. And this year, we're going disco.For one night only, Momentum Studios becomes a little more sparkly, a little more dancey, and probably a little more disco-ball heavy than usual.Shine is our annual dance party, season kickoff event, night to celebrate Momentum, the artists who make this place what it is, and the dancer that lives in all of us.Come hang out. Grab a drink. Get some glitter. Watch some seriously good artists do their thing. Dance with your friends. Dance with strangers. Learn the Shine Shuffle. Wander upstairs. Take a photo. Then get back on the dance floor.There will be live performances, DJ, pop-up moments, drinks, food, and a few surprises along the way. We want you to come have a good time so there is a little bit here for everyone. Remember, underneath all the sparkle, Shine is about something pretty simple -bringing people together through art, dancing, and community. Your ticket helps make Momentum's 19th season possible and helps us keep creating space for artists to make things, try things, and to move us.Bring your sparkle. The dance floor is yours.
