About this event
Shi Doo Shima: A Navajo Tea Party is a free monthly event that is held online and in person at Aneth Chapter. For those in person, tea and cake will be served. Each month a presentation related to domestic violence, sexual violence, and prevention will be given.
For May, the focus will be on Teen Dating & Healthy Relationships. This presentation will cover what a healthy relationship looks like in teens.
Our presenter Sandra Brandenburg serves as the Indigenous Community Coordinator at Seekhaven, located in Moab, UT, where she is leads efforts to address domestic and sexual violence within Indigenous communities. Seekhaven is a dedicated domestic/sexual violence shelter offering comprehensive resources to individuals and families in crisis. With a focus on cultivating safe spaces and providing culturally specific resources for Native American individuals in SouthEastern Utah, Sandra's mission is to empower communities through education and prevention. Her upcoming presentation, in collaboration with the One Love Foundation, will shed light on the 10 signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships, equipping individuals with essential tools to recognize and combat relationship abuse. Through her work, Sandra strives to foster resilience, support survivors, and advocate for lasting change in the fight against relationship abuse
