Sharpening Woodworking Tools

Learn the tricks to getting a razor edge on your tools quickly, and keeping it there a long time. In this class you’ll learn how to sharpen common woodworking tools using methods such as water- and oilstones, bench grinders, the Tormek and Work Sharp grinding systems, and more. Topics include bevel angles, secondary bevels (microbevels) and hollow grinds; polishing compounds, rust removal & prevention, and diamond stones. It is recommended that students bring their a few of their own tools to sharpen, and sharpening equipment if possible. However, this also might be a great way to try out that shiny blue grinder you’ve been eyeing for months now!
