Hear survivor of Japanese interment David Sakura, together with newly commissioned string quartet by Japanese-American composer Kenji Bunch.

An evening of music and spoken word reflecting on the Japanese-American experience. Internment survivor David Sakura shares the stage with the premiere performance of Kenji Bunch’s new “String Quartet No. 5, Songs for a Shared Space,” commissioned by Sheffield Chamber Players. Also on the program are Bunch’s “Minidoka,” a viola work that commemorates survivors of the infamous Japanese prison camp; and a cello solo composed by Bunch and commissioned by Sheffield co-founder and cellist Leo Eguchi.Pay What You Can Tickets Available:1. V﻿enue information:We are located at 41 Second Street in Cambridge, MA. Please enter at the ground floor entrance and visit the Box Office on your right as you enter.O﻿nce you check in, you will head upstairs to the theater. There is an elevator and staircase for access to the theater.Seating is general admission. The house will open an hour before the show starts, so you are welcome to arrive early. Feel free to visit our gallery before the show begins.Getting there:We are located just a few blocks from the Green line Lechmere MBTA Station.The East Cambridge Parking Garage is entered off Spring Street, between First &amp; Second Streets, one block away from us, and open 24/7.Covid Protocol:We want to keep everyone safe as we bring people back to in-person events, including audience, performers and staff.When attending a public event in our space, audience is strongly encouraged to be masked except while actively eating or drinking. If you do not have a mask, we can provide you one.Our facility is equipped with MERV-14 filters .
