La Trobe University Bendigo Campus Library (Sandhurst Meeting Rooms)

Shared Reading is an immersive adventure, a space where people from all walks of life gather in small groups to listen to a story or a poem. We read slowly to allow space for our responses to emerge and to share, discovering the narratives within all of us. Shared Reading has been shown to help with depression and anxiety. Some call it ‘bibliotherapy’. We are looking for participants to take part in 8 weeks of Shared Reading as part of a research project on fostering wellbeing during the pandemic. The sessions will be run by Dr Zoe Thomas, creative writer &amp; trained Shared Reading facilitator, who is also Academic Advisor at La Trobe University library. Booking into the first session on 27 July will secure your place for the entire program.
