About this event

  • 2 days 8 hours

This course is a realtime, interactive webinar. Through lecture, group discussion, and practice tests, this intensive three-day course focuses on preparing students to take the Planning and Design section of the LARE. Students will be exposed to the fundamentals of planning and design related skills and known CLARB standards from published sources. We will practice applying our problem solving techniques to example tests and graphic problems.

Each student will receive a course syllabus as a PDF file, containing approximately 370 pages of information related to CLARB's topic lists, and at least 235 test questions. 25 graphic practice problems and solutions are provided in separate Advanced Item Type (AIT) packets. Students will also be encouraged to form national study groups, which we have found to be an extremely valuable benefit of the course.

Frequently asked questions

What if I can’t make this date?

We record every webinar and make it available to attendees through a password-protected Vimeo link. If you would like to use the recordings for all or part of the webinar, register as usual and you will receive the links after the weekend is over. Contact us if you want to register AFTER the event.

How are course materials delivered to attendees?

Once you have registered, go to the Eventbrite page and look for the 'Course Materials' link. It will take you to the course folder, where you'll find pdf copies of all the reading and exercises, plus additional reference materials we have found helpful.

What is your refund policy?

Course materials are shared upon registration, so we may choose to give a partial refund. We can be very flexible if you want to attend a later date as a transfer at no additional cost – just email us and let us know what’s going on.

What if I take your course and don’t pass my exam?

The LARE is a difficult exam that requires significant study time after the webinar is over. We help you structure that effort and connect you with study partners and resources. If you do not pass your exam, contact us to repeat the course at no cost.

I don't want people to know I am taking the LARE. Can I attend anonymously?

Yes, you can. Let us know when you register and we will not include you in the class study group list that is issued at the end of the weekend. You can choose how you participate in the Zoom room, or just use the recordings to prepare.
