About this event

SFAI Memory Collection: Pete’s Cafe with Pete Stanwood & John Lindsey

Join us for a special hybrid memory talk and celebration honoring five years of SF Artists Alumni (SFAA) and the legendary Pete’s Café — a beloved gathering spot at the former San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) campus.

Presented in collaboration with the SFAI Legacy Foundation + Archive, this event celebrates the stories, culture, and creative legacy of the SFAI community.

Important Note: While the talk is about Pete’s Café at SFAI, it is not taking place at the former campus. The in-person event will be held at The Great Highway Gallery in the Outer Sunset.

🎤 Featured Guests:
Pete Stanwood, founder of Pete’s Café, and John Lindsey, former night manager and now owner of The Great Highway Gallery, reunite to share vivid memories from their time fueling generations of artists with food, music, and camaraderie on Russian Hill — and how that spirit continues to thrive by the ocean.

🗓️ Date & Time:
Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM PT

📍 In-Person Location:
The Great Highway Gallery
3649 Lawton St, San Francisco, CA 94122
