Klasey Consulting is partnering with Lincoln Families to host "Sexual abuse of youth with disabilities" to Alameda County providers. Sexual abuse of youth with disabilities is rarely talked about despite it's prevalence. This is problematic given how many system-involved youth have disabilities. It's crucial for social service providers to learn about this topic so they can intervene on a preventative basis as well as to intervene if the youth has been abused.

Please note that in order to register for these free trainings you must be staff, caregiver or volunteer working directly with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible and will not receive the zoom link

The learning objectives for the training include:

1. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 risk factor for sexual abuse with youth with disabilities

2. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 preventive strategy to protect disabled youth from abuse

3. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 strategy to support disabled youth when abused.

The training will be provided by Dr. Kelly of Klasey Consulting. You can learn more about Klasey Consulting at www.klaseyconsulting.com. You can follow us @klaseyconsulting on Instagram to stay informed about upcoming trainings and learn about resources.
