About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

For people with lived experience in the sex trade, speaking up and doing public education work can be risky. Each of us needs to consider our different vulnerabilities and how to best protect ourselves. The goal of this class is to help individuals identify areas of their life that need to be protected, and to brainstorm ways to increase our safety as advocates.

After a brief presentation, participants of this class will be invited to share their ideas and experiences (as they feel comfortable) to help each other learn. Since the subject of safety is vast and multifaceted, this class will strive to serve as a starting point.

This 90-minute class will start at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT on Tuesday, September 24. Spokes Hub will try to host classes on advocate safety several times a year. If you’d like to teach a class on advocate safety, please contact spokeshub@woodhullfoundation.org.
