Sewing for Beginners! Sewing Machine Basics
*PLEASE READ WORKSHOP POLICY!
During this 2 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of using a sewing machine, including how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, and sew basic stitches. We will also cover some essential sewing techniques and how to make your own tote bag!
This workshop is perfect for anyone who has never used a sewing machine before or who wants to refresh their skills. We'll provide all the materials you need, so just bring yourself and your enthusiasm for learning!
WORKSHOP POLICY:
Any attendees that cannot arrive by 6:15pm will have to reschedule their session. Sessions are rescheduled via email (abnetagain@gmail.com). The materials provided are the materials that you must use. Attendees are not allowed to request changes in fabric, thread colors and/or designs provided. Attendees are not allowed to design, create or expand upon ("wip") personal projects in the studio. Once the session has reached the end of the 2 hour timeframe (8:00pm or 120 minutes after arrival within the grace period) it is over. Mistakes are a natural part of the process, however, following the instructions will result in minimal mistakes. Changes can no longer be made to your tote bag after 8:00pm (120 minutes). In the event that you wish to continue working on your tote bag passed the allotted timeframe, you will have to re-register for another session (if approved by the workshop host). All sales are final. If the details of this policy are not something you can agree to, please do not register. By registering, you are confirming that you have read and agree to the policy. Failure to respect the workshop policy will result in any/all attendies being asked to leave.
This in-person workshop will take place at 319 North 11th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107. If you are driving, please arrive with enough time to find parking. If you are traveling vía Septa, please remember that Septa schedules are often subject to delays and plan accordingly.
Classes are held on the 3rd Floor. You will receive an email from the instructor about how to enter the building prior to your session. Thank you!
