Continuing after Sewing 2, learn how to read, understand, and follow sewing patterns with confidence
Learn how to read, understand, and follow sewing patterns with confidence. This class will cover how to interpret pattern instructions, transfer markings, and determine construction order. We’ll also discuss garment fitting, notches, seam allowances, and fabric layout. You will leave the class with a cut-out pattern ready for sewing, and an understanding of how to tackle construction. Perfect for those ready to move from sewing practice to finished pieces.
Prerequisite: Factory 3's Sewing 2 class or equivalent — comfort with sewing machine and basic seam types.
Tools & supplies: Recommended to bring your own pattern and fabric you'd like to work with. Sewing machines and all tools will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Your machine must be in good working condition.
