Sewing 101 (Includes 3 Classes)

Class Schedule:
The date you select is your first class. Your remaining two classes will meet on the same day and time over the following two weeks.

What you'll learn: threading a sewing machine, basic stitches like straight stitch, zig-zag, and buttonholes, seams, reading commercial patterns, fabric prep and cutting, sewing a tote bag, constructing elastic waistbands, and making pants or skirts.

Supplies: First class supplies are included. You’ll need to buy 2-3 yards of fabric for your skirt or pants, with suggestions provided in class. Machines and tools are supplied, but feel free to bring your own.

Class Breakdown:

• Class One: Sewing machine intro, basic stitches, seams, cutting patterns, and sewing a tote bag.
• Class Two: More complex seams, cutting pants or skirts, and sewing elastic waistbands.
• Class Three: Continue sewing pants or skirts.

Classes max out at 12 students. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for check-in. Classes are nonrefundable but can be rescheduled up to 72 hours before the first class by emailing sew@southfloridasewingstudio.com.
