Both the in person and online workshops cover the same content and will give you an overview of everything you need to consider to run a successful private practice as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist.

We will discuss:

- Pros and cons of working in Private Practice

- Required policies and procedures and GDPR compliance

- Financial matters

- Marketing

- Getting and making client referrals

- Support and self-care

You will leave the workshop with a checklist of everything you need and a personalised business plan. You will also take away template examples of all the documentation (e.g. policies) you will need for your practice.

There is an hour's worth of prep to do ahead of the workshop (details will be given after booking) and you will receive a 7hrs CPD certificate.

The facilitator, Emma Garrard, has run a successful private practice for the last 14 years. She is an experienced Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Trainer.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to attend both the in person and online workshops?

No. The in person and online workshops cover the same content, so you only need to attend one or the other.

What if I don't have time to do the one hour of prep that is mentioned?

Don't worry. It will make it easier for you if you prepare but it is not essential.

Do I need to have my camera on if I attend the Zoom workshop?

There will be an expectation to have your camera on some but not all of the time.

Do I need to be a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist in order to attend?

No. This workshop is for students as well as qualified practitioners who are thinking about private practice in the future. You would be able to run a Private Practice after being awarded a Level 4 counselling qualification.
