Speaker: Dr. Melvin Weinberg, DDS

BIO:

Dr. Weinberg is a general dentist at Aventura Dental Associates. He is also an adjunct faculty dentist and instructor at the Broward College Dental Hygiene Program. Dr. "Mel," as he likes to be called, graduated from dental school in 1975 from the University of Maryland. After dental school, he entered the U.S. Navy for a two-year assignment full time, then stayed in for an additional 26 years as a reservist dentist, going on various assignments and taking courses.

His career path has led him into group and private practice spanning over 30 years. He honed general and comprehensive dentistry skills, including oral surgery, prosthetics, root canal therapy, periodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Mel's overall philosophy of dental care starts with a patient-centered approach as a starting point and applies the clinical skills of comprehensive dentistry. In addition, he and his dental team bring in the newer concepts of "Integrative Medicine," where dentistry is the start of total health and leads to a discussion about the rest of the body and its connection to the oral health environment.

Moreover, Dr. Mel has over 30 years of experience with behavioral management of human growth and development and group dynamics. He has led various practice management programs, including lessons on Prosynergy and Next Level Practice. He has served as a "Life Coach" in several programs with Landmark Education and was a current program in Leadership and Personal Growth and Development from 2000 to 2018.

In the community, the Parkway Middle School Mentorship Program has recognized him as a mentor for junior high students from 2019 to the present. He has also established a Master Mind Group of General Dentists through coaching. He has been the leader and founder of a Behavioral Mastermind group from 2012 to the present and has completed a coaching course at GOATSWIN.com from 2021 to the present.
