Service Women Support Book Club

Welcome to our online book club dedicated to supporting service women--veteran and active duty.

Veteran & Active Duty women (and non binary) veterans share many struggles--much of which is invisible to, or caused by, our male counterparts.

Since writing Uncultured, I've heard from so many women who have told me how glad they are that somebody is talking about these topics, and often of how starved they are for a servicemember community they can be a part of that is not dominated by men.

This is my answer.

We'll come together monthly for a year, with one book per quarter. The meetings will be 90 minutes, intended to be half talking about what's going on in our lives, and half about the books we'll be reading. In many ways, we are deconstructing our experience and figuring out what it means to our lives, and society, that we are women who have worn a US Military uniform.

(Though Coast Guard is technically part of the Department of Homeland Security, we welcome our Coasty sibs from another crib)
