The Railroad Museum of PA is excited to offer additional “open” hours for children and community members with special sensory needs. During our Sensory Hour, the museum will reduce lighting, sounds, and maintain a low attendance. We will have some “quiet spaces” for breaks set up in a few of our galleries. A few of the trains will be open, with museum staff present to answer questions.
Sensory Hour attendees are welcome to stay after the Museum opens to the public at 10 AM, but please bear in mind that the Sensory Hour environment will not be maintained.
This Sensory Hour event takes place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Pre-registration on Eventbrite is required.
*Special Program Available! Join us for StoryTime with the Educator in Stewart Junction Education Center at 9:30 AM for a special story reading and related craft. This month's book is "An Ocean of Change" by Debi Gueron. After the reading, we will create a scene of our local waterways and the wonderful plant and animal life we can find there, from recycled magazines and craft supplies. Book pairs with Lancaster Water Week, which is held June 7th - June 15th!
*Free admission for your family’s paid staff includes a personal assistant or one-on-one aide. Please note that pre-registration for ALL attendees is required.
