Description

Seminole County cordially invites all Seminole County veterans to an Appreciation Luncheon to show admiration and gratitude to those who served in the United States Armed Forces. The event is complimentary for veterans and each veteran is welcomed to bring one guest, without charge as well. Lunch will be provided.

We are privileged to welcome Colonel Charles E. McGee, a retired 99-year-old United States Air Force fighter pilot, to deliver the keynote speech. Colonel McGee was one of the Tuskegee Airmen; he flew 409 missions throughout his 30-year career, including combats in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Other event highlights include: naming Seminole County’s Veteran of the Year, a POW/MIA table setting ceremony, a military flyover, 21-gun salute, and an honor guard presentation. Each veteran in attendance will receive a commemorative challenge coin and lapel pin, as well.

Special thank you to our partners from the City of Sanford and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Community Foundation.
