A self-possession ritual meditation focused on healing our sexual bodies, honing sensuality, and liberating the physical from the political.

You are invited to join Jex Blackmore in a self-possession ritual meditation focused on healing our sexual bodies, honing sensuality, and liberating the physical from the political. Participants will enter a space of communal psychic pleasure and reflection, and leave with a guide for solo practice.The one hour program will include a ritual reflection and a 50 minute immersive sound meditation. We recommend wearing something comfortable and all are welcome to bring a mat, or blanket, or whatever is needed for your body to be relaxed. You will be welcome to stand, sit, or lie down for the duration. You are welcome to bring earplugs if you are sensitive to loud sounds. All attendees are required to wear a mask for the duration of the program. No recording or photographs will be permitted. This will be a space where your attention to the present moment will be required. The program is open to all but you must RSVP in advance. Identification will be checked at the door. Please arrive early. There will be absolutely no late admission. Doors Open: 8:30-9:00 PMProgram Starts: 9:00-10:00 PM The event will be held near Poletown Detroit. The exact address will be emailed to those who RSVP the night before the event. ABOUT JEX BLACKMOREJex Blackmore is best known for her performances in civic spaces. Her work, which is focused on the relationship between moral religious rhetoric, sexuality, and political policy, takes aim at institutions of social and sexual oppression. She has been featured in numerous publications such as TIME, Vanity Fair, Washington Post, NPR, Cosmopolitan, and Salon.*Due to the current landscape, health and safety protocols will be enforced at the event, following state, county, and local government guidelines as well as recommendations from health authorities.*
