L﻿ooking to try a new activity? Or try a new martial art to enhance your practice? This event is for beginner and experieced martial artists alike who are curious about exploring martial arts from a new perspective.The focus of these two hours is to develop a basic reaction to an unpredictable attack, with emphasis on precision and timing. These skills will come from the ability to stay calm under pressure, which allows for access to counteroffensive options. Thus, the foundation of this workshop will be based on the philosophy of the Tabimina system, as well as integrating other martial arts styles. This workshop provides an introduction to the Tabminia Balintawak System, a martial art originating from the Philippines. The philosophy of this system is to help the individual reach &quot;Zero Mind&quot;, where defensive skills can be accessed on subconscious level to a threat that is random, on target, in real time, and stressful. This is optimally done on a 1:1 practice, so this workshop will just provide a glimpse ito the a Tabimina pedagogy.This is a safe space for individuals from all ethnicities, races, sexualities, genders, creeds and backgrounds of any type to practice self-defense.﻿*There will be photos taken at this event - if you are uncomforatble with this, please let the facilitator know and he will adapt.

A﻿bout the Instructor:T﻿he seminar will be lead by Sam, founder of Flow Defense. Sam earned has been teaching Tabimina since 2018 and earned his instructor certification in Tabimina in 2019. He also has experience in several other fighting styles, and integrates his studies of psychology into his training.
