SELF DEFENSE 101: BOXING x JIU JITSU WORKSHOP

Griffins Boxing & Fitness and Gracie Jiu Jitsu North Vancouver are teaming up for the first time to offer a women's self defense workshop - designed especially for beginners.

No experience? No problem. This workshop is all about helping women feel confident, capable, and empowered.

Participants will kick things off with a 1-hour session at Griffins Boxing & Fitness, where you'll learn the basics of boxing-based skills for striking, footwork, and situational awareness.

Then, we'll take a short 150-meter walk together to Gracie Jiu Jitsu North Vancouver, where you'll learn how to stay safe and in control using simple, effective live saving techniques-no strength or athleticism required.

Expect a supportive, encouraging environment with expert coaches who are here to help you feel stronger, safer, and more confident.

Get ready to break a sweat and have fun while picking up valuable life saving skills!

No experience necessary!! Just bring your energy!!

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

Regular comfortable work out clothes. Yoga shorts/pants and a t-shirt are perfect. Tank tops are not ideal for the Jiu Jitsu portion. Running shoes are required for the Boxing portion.

What is the minimum age allowed?

Girls who are at least 13 years old may attend as long as they are attending with a guardian or parent.
