Organized by

Ink + Zen, blending the connection between the Artist and the Healer

The space was designed by traditional Japanese tattoo artist Hori Maki, and certified sound practitioner Nicolas Sotomayor.

Inked Zen is unlike any other tattoo parlor you'll find in Los Angeles, or the rest of the world. It combines the elements of a traditional Japanese tattoo studio with the calming energy of a wellness center. Maki and Nic seek healing and precision through art and want clients to feel tranquil during their sessions.

They curated their own style of "Zen Healing", which blends Japanese Zen tattooing, and the therapeutic benefits of meditation through sound and vibration. They believe the process of receiving a tattoo can be a deeply meditative and healing experience, offering an alternative awareness through breath and sound, shifting the body from a pain response - to a more spacious response. Moving you from a place of disharmony to harmony and allowing you to dive deep into the Irezumi meditation experience.

Whether you come to get inked or attend a sound bath meditation class, clients leave here with a sense of peace and belonging…
