The Institute for Social and Emotional Learning's SEL Leadership Program is a one-year cohort program that supports leaders and educators around the world to build and sustain inclusive, equitable, SEL-rooted school communities.
Who Should Attend:
The Program is designed for anyone committed to and responsible for the implementation and sustainability of SEL in their community, including:
- Principals, Assistant Principals, and Heads of School
- Division Heads
- Aspiring School Leaders
- SEL Coordinators
- Deans of Students/Grade Level Deans
- Members of a Student Services Team
- School Social Workers
- Counselors
- Curriculum Coordinators
- Directors of Learning
Learning Outcomes:
- High-impact practical tools and approaches to implement and lead for community-wide SEL
- Opportunities for critical reflection and analysis of challenges experienced while bringing SEL to your community
- Evidence-led practices to support the SEL of students, educators, and parents/caregivers
- Space for collaboration with educators from around the world
Session Topics:
Launch - Welcome & Introductions
Session 1 - Building a Strategic Vision for SEL
Session 2 - Rooting SEL in Equity, Inclusion, & Justice
Session 3 - Enhancing Adult and Educator SEL
Session 4 - Systems and Structures that Foster SEL
Session 5 - Data and Evidence to Inform Continuous Improvement
Session 6 - Sustaining and Nurturing SEL
To allow a depth of connection and collaboration, the SEL Leadership Program will be capped at 30 Leaders.
We ask that schools register a maximum of three members of staff/faculty for this Program.
What’s involved?
- Seven online sessions designed to develop compassionate, evidence-led leadership for SEL
- Three optional guest speaker or panel events
- An online collaborative forum for communication and resource exchange, during and between Core Sessions
- Three 1:1 Coaching Sessions with a member of the IFSEL team
- Participants in the SEL Leadership Program will earn certification in Social and Emotional Learning Leadership

CEU Information
Participants in the IFSEL Leadership Program are eligible for 1.0 CEU Credits from Dominican University. More information about credits will be shared at the start of the course. Please note that Dominican University charges a fee of $55 per CEU unit.
