This workshop provides the framework and tools to start the year on a strong foundation of SEL. IFSEL’s Foundational SEL course presents effective lesson sequences and simple and profound practices to support Social and Emotional Learning.

Lessons & Practices
We will review the foundational skills all students need and offer creative ways to make them come alive in the classroom and beyond.
The framework aligns with CASEL and provides a common language to build emotional intelligence, positive communication, and restorative practices in ourselves and with our students.
Workshop Goals:
IFSEL’s workshops are interactive, engaging, and practical. You will be provided with resources and lessons and opportunities to meet with colleagues.
- A framework for developing common SEL vocabulary and skills for elementary students
- A series of experiences and rituals that engage young learners while developing a sense of community and belonging
- Lessons sequence to develop skills that build upon each other and can be adapted to different developmental stages and needs
- Practices and strategies for wellbeing for both students and adults

- Experienced teachers looking to refresh or deepen their SEL practice
