Join us for an afternoon of planting where we will decorate recycled containers and start some seeds to take home. There’s a lot we can grow and harvest even in small spaces! Learn to take care of your seedlings as they grow into bountiful plants that can nourish you and the living creatures around us.Date: Saturday, May 27thTime: 3:00 - 5:00 pmLocation: MUSE Arts Creative Lab at Earlscourt Park (1369B St Clair Ave West)About the Artist:Laura is a Colombian-born, Toronto-based community engaged artist and designer. She has been curious and involved with urban growing projects for a number of years and is passionate about promoting the growing of our own food through a lens of food justice. Laura is also interested in using art and design as tools for education, participation, and mobilization, as well as exploring how the arts can support community-building, strengthening our connections between each other and the world around us.About the Festival:HAPPENING Multicultural Festival is the first and only Toronto festival created by community artists, giving center-stage to the talent and skills of immigrant, newcomer, and refugee artists. This multi-arts platform includes music, dance, visual arts, community-engaged arts, storytelling, spoken word, and poetry.
