Seed Saving & Pollinator Census

Daylight is slowly dwindling day by day, and plants know! Browning stems, crispy leaves and hardened seeds are a plant's signals of a seasonal transition. This is the perfect time to harvest seeds from plants for years to come.

Join us at the Historic Hartnett Community Garden to; learn how to save seeds directly from flowerheads and fruits, learn the difference between perennials and annuals, and receive tips on when to germinate for the next growing cycle.

We will also participate in The Great Southeast Pollinator Census, a national/regional community science initiative aimed to increase sustainable pollinator habitats, increase entomological literacy, and generate useful data about our pollinator populations.
