Seed Saving 102: Seed Processing & Storage
Get hands-on and learn the art of seed saving! This is part 2 of our two part seed saving series in collaboration with Utopian Seed Project.
Come save seeds with us at Seed Saving 102: Seed Processing & Storage! This is part two of our two part Seed Saving Series in collaboration with LuAnna of Utopian Seed Project. Seed Saving 101 is not a prerequisite for 102.
Using a variety of tools, participants will focus on practical cleaning & storage techniques including winnowing, screening, and wet-processing. In addition to hands-on learning LuAnna will give a presentation on processing and seed storage techniques from managing moisture and temperature to ensuring long-term viability. Whether you are a backyard gardener looking to save seeds from your favorite crop or a community grower, this workshop aims to develop the skills needed to successfully clean and store your future seed harvest.
Expect hands on learning, a take-home presentation, and space for discussion and Q&A. Depending on class size and volume participants may take seeds home.
Skill Level: This class is for beginner and intermediate skill levels.
Age Requirement: Participants must be 18 or older.

Equitable Access We believe everyone deserves access to hands-on learning opportunities, regardless of income. That's why each workshop includes a limited number of Equitable Access seats.
To help us share these opportunities widely:
- Each participant may claim an Equitable Access seat once per quarter (every three months).
- These spots are first-come, first-served and limited by class size.
- If you've already used an equitable seat this quarter, we ask that you register at full price so others can benefit.
Please only claim these tickets if cost is truly a barrier for you — this helps ensure that those who need the support most can take part.
