About this event

  • 1 day 8 hours

We will have a wide variety of very exciting and cool Magic the Gathering cubes to come and draft! Simply show up with a playmat and dice and play in up to 5 drafts across Saturday and Sunday. With the assistence of Hedron Network and Judges, we aim to allow everyone to play whichever cubes they want, and get all cards back safely, as we did last year, but in an even more time effiecnt way!

At the end of the main event drafts, the top 8 players in the standings will get a special treat of playing Aqua's Vintage cube , a beautifully altered and signed vintage cube with decades of memories, featured both at our event last year and at other major cube events, such as CUBECON and Washington Cube Champs. The winner of the top 8 will recvive a free entry to CUBECON 2024, and additional prizes/ small gifts will be given out to all participants.

This is an event to show off creativity of designers, and the beauty of one of this game's most egaliatarian formats. ALL are welcome, and I am happy to answer any questions and attempt to accommodate everyone, cube owner or player, in any way possible.

CUBE OWNERS: Please submit your cubes to calicubechamp@gmail.com with a short description of your cube, a secondary way to contact you (such as discord) and a cubecobra link. We will be accepting cube submissions through April 8th.

Frequently asked questions

Where and when do I submit my cube? Are there any restrictions my cube needs to meet?

Cubes need to be composed of 360- 600 cards, able to be drafted and have three rounds played by 8 people within a reasonable time frame (~3.5 - 4 hours) and contain understandable cards. You may use proxies/ playtest cards in your cube, provided they are of sufficient quality.

How can I keep my cube safe?

We will have two certified judges helping run the event both days. Hedron has a check in/ check out feature that provides documentation of where cards are during a draft, and last year's event had 100% of cards at the event return to cubes and owners safely.
