Overview

SeCAPS or the Southeastern Coastal and Atmospheric Processes Symposium is a two-day student-led meteorology conference.

SeCAPS or the Southeastern Coastal and Atmospheric Processes Symposium is a two-day student-led meteorology conference put on by the South Alabama student chapter of the American Meteorological Society. It will be held in the Student Center Ballroom on March 28th and 29th!


The conference brings together professional meteorologists, students, prospective students and alumni from all over the country. Allowing students and professionals to hear about potential job opportunities, learn about various topics, network, build connections in the industry, and to hear and present research. The event is free for all current South Alabama students and high schoolers, $45 for all other atendees. This year the conference will feature James Spann (Alabama Weather Network), Dr. Micheal Simpson (Climavision), Dr. Kim Klockow-McClain (UCAR) and Mr. Jeff Medlin (Medlin Meteorological Consulting LLC). Lunch will be provided both days!
