In 2025, Databricks announced Lakebase, a new category of databases, and launched it based on Neon Serverless PostgreSQL technology. In this talk, David will explain what makes Neon and Lakebase unique, diving deep into its data lake-based disaggregated compute and storage architecture. He will also explore what makes these systems exceptionally well-suited for new app developers and AI agents with features such as instant provisioning, branching, and scaling. Notably, 80% of databases on Neon are now created by agents, a trend that reflects the shifting landscape of database management. In addition to classic PostgreSQL and enterprise workloads. Demos will include how to get started in seconds for free, with no sign up required.
