  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Sea Scout Ship 711 is under the guidance of the Boy Scouts of America and was established in 1962 under the name of Del Mar. Since its inception, the Del Mar has provided generations of young men with well-rounded experience and growth centered around the sea.

SSS 711 is recruiting new members aged 14+ (or have completed 8th Grade) who are seeking fun filled, team building adventure on the water and who are interested in acquiring important life/practical skills and many useful technical skills for operating and maintaining boats.

Come, experience a day in a life of a Sea Scout!

Call/Text Skipper Daniel Stoica (714) 473-8153 or New Member Coordinator Huey Yann Ooi (949) 378-3741 if you have questions. We would love to hear from you!

What should I bring?

Hat/cap, sunglasses, light jacket/wind breaker/sweater, sunblock (preferably with zinc), 24 oz water, your curiosity and willingness to learn and try new things.

Can my family participate?

Our 43-foot sloop comfortably and safely accommodates 12 people on board. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis.

Can I avoid being seasick?

Over the counter anti-nausea medicines like non-drowsy Bonine or Dramamine taken an hour before departure work well to prevent seasickness. Also, remember to stay hydrated and eat lightly on sail day.
