[NOTE: Online Scribble River will continue bi-monthly in 2024 with specific days added at least a month in advance (varied Monday - Thursday). Check back for new dates in future months.]
Scribble River is a writing forum for those interested in connecting their head, heart, and hand through the act of writing. This two hour Zoom video-conference session will consist of a short introduction, agreements, and three rounds of prompt writing followed by sharing and reflection. No one is required to share, and others in the group will be asked to listen and then offer an expression of appreciation in response to the writing, not a critique of the writing itself. Rather than a writing workshop, Scribble River is a personal discovery writing forum. The purpose is to understand ourselves more deeply by encouraging written expression that flows like a river through the varied landscape of our psyches in an atmosphere of camaraderie and trust. The purpose is not to improve the quality of our writing, although writing may improve by virtue of practice.
There is no cost, and optional donations are appreciated. Each session is limited to 9 participants. There is a waiting list if the session is full. If you have registered and cannot attend for any reason, please cancel your registration so that someone else might take your place, or contact Cynthia.
The event will take place via internet on the Zoom video-conference platform. You may join using your computer with camera/microphone, or smartphone. Choose a quiet space where you won't likely be disturbed during the session. Please arrive a few minutes early, if possible, so we can start on time, and have your notebook, computer, or other medium for your writing available.
I am looking forward to writing with you!
