Screenprinting 101 Workshop

This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to an accessible, DIY method of screen printing-no dark room or expensive equipment required

This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to an accessible, DIY method of screen printing-no dark room or expensive equipment required! We’ll design and make our own screens using embroidery hoops, paper, and other materials that are easy to find at your local craft store. We’ll practice printing on scrap paper and fabric patches, and finish by printing on a canvas tote bag. If you would like to bring your own blanket t-shirt, you are welcome to do so! Students will be able to bring home their printed items & their screen to continue printing at home!

Included:

-Step-by-step guidance to create a design, make a screen, and print

-All the materials you’ll need to create your very own screen

-Access to multiple ink colors, paper, and fabric for exploring the process

-Various design templates for those that need some inspiration

You’ll Take Home:

-A tote bag with your original print

-your reusable screen

-a DIY Screen Printing guide & Resource packet with a list of materials, step-by-step directions, and links to helpful resources

This class is 18+. Students will be using sharp tools to make their design.
