Screen Print Multi-Color
Date: Nov. 10, 2018  Time: 10:00am-3:00pm Cost: $175 includes lunch. You provide fabric items (See below) Class: Size: 3 Age: 18 and up. 10 to 17 with an Adult.
So you have done some screen printing and now you want to level-up? Maybe you have taken my Screen Print Pro Workshop and want to add on to your skillset. This class will take you through setting your artwork up for multi-color jobs, printing films, exposure, setting up on press and finally pulling your own 2-color prints on shirts or other fabric items. 
You should have taken my Screen Print Pro workshop or have experince printing before taking this one. 
WORKSHOP DETAILS
How Many Items Can We Bring? Bring in around 8-10 fabric based items. Lighter colors will work best. T-shirts, tote bags, pillowcases, tea towels, pullover hoodies, etc. No items such as thick towels, heavily textured materials or items with pockets and zippers, please. You can purchase blank T's from Michaels and AC Moore or bring items from home. You can also set up an account with online retailers like shirtspace.com. Don't be afraid to bring old shirts and items with printing on them as well. The results could be really cool!
How Many Colors Are We Printing?  We will be working on my 6 color press which gives each of the 3 attendees 2 screens so we will be limiting things to a two-color print. Bring all white or light colored fabrics for the best results and ink color selection. 
Design & Tech Specs:  We need hi-res artwork for you to get the best results. Adobe Illustrator is best. Vector artwork will scale as needed and create the sharpest film for your print. Once you have completed your artwork you need to color the entire artwork black with each of the 4 CMYK sliders pushed to 100%. Send the .Ai or .EPS file along. We are on the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud. Photoshop files need to be hi-res and 300dpi. All artwork needs to be colored 100% Black across all CMYK channels. 
Email your file by Thursday the week of your workshop: For vector artwork, send us a .ai or .eps file, and if bitmap a jpeg or pdf -300dpi and sized to how large you think you want it to print, no larger than 12"x14" (10" across is a good size) Please also bring it with you on a USB drive as a backup. Remember to outline any fonts and expand any strokes in Illustrator.
For those that do not send in art, we have some ready-to-go designs and all sorts of films that you can collage into your own unique piece.
Please DO NOT take images "free" from the internet to bring in and print. Purchase any stock art and know that while you can print it you most likely cannot sell it so know that any art you may buy would best be used for your own use/gifting to others. 
What Should I Wear?:  Screen printing can be a bit messy and we have aprons for you to wear, so dress comfortably and in some older clothes that you are willing to get inky.
End time:  We're should end around 3:00pm - but don't worry - we're also not kicking anyone out so if it's taking you a bit longer - don't panic. Fun has no time limit!
Cancellation Policy:  As registration is limited, this is first come, first serve. Cancellations with less than one week's notice are non-refundable but may be credited towards another workshop (if space is available). Cancellations with more than one week's notice have the option of a refund or moving to a future workshop.
