Boy Scout Gardening Merit Badge: Compost Option
- Visit the Agricultural History Farm Park and work towards your Gardening Merit Badge on May 18th, 2024!
- This Gardening Merit Badge program will have many talks, demonstrations, and activities to provide information and activities for the Gardening Merit Badge.
- Scouts will receive vegetable and flower seeds plus two starter plants to grow at home to complete merit badge requirements and materials for the Gardening Merit badge compost option. Information will be provided for the water garden option.
- Non-scouts, including adults who wish to participate, may also register for this program.
- This will afford a wonderful opportunity for those in our community who wish to explore home gardening’s awesome satisfaction.
A merit badge counselor will be on-site and available after the live program to guide you to completion and sign off your Blue Cards, but the remaining requirements of the badge need to be worked on during the growing season.
Please bring a packed lunch with you and dress for the weather - some parts of the event will be outside.
Scout tickets come with one free chaperone ticket. Chaperones are not BSA required since there will be trained BSA adults at the event, but optional/welcome.
This is a Class A uniform event for Scouts.
