An iftar is a gathering/dinner of people to celebrate the spiritual month of Ramadan and be able to break fasts and share delicious meals with others whether it be your close family and friends or somebody unknown to you that you can form a new bond with.

We are hosting this scouting iftar to be able to connect the community together as well as those not in the Muslim community. It will be a special and fun time to strengthen bonds between family and friends and to share the special time of Ramadan!

In addition to this, it is encouraged to bring a dish to this event, kind of like a potluck. If you chose the bring-a-dish ticket option please use the link below to sign up for what food you'd like to bring. Thank you!

To share a dish:

All ingredients MUST be Zabiha Halal compliant*. Below are few guidelines:

- Vegan and Vegetarian are considered Zabiha Halal

- All Fish not contaminated with any other (non Zabiha Halal) animal product other than milk and eggs are considered Zabiha Halal

- All Meats like (Beef, Lamp, Chicken, Duck, etc) MUST be Zabiha Halal

Please share a printed Ingredient list with your dish so that those with Allergies can determine if suitable for them

* Zabiha Halal compliant:

The Arabic word halal means permissible, and the rules of slaughter are based on Islamic law. Many Muslims believe that the meat they consume should be Zabiha meaning the animal has to be alive and healthy, a Muslim has to perform the slaughter in the appropriate ritual manner, and this applies to all meats. And in order to accommodate for all attending members of this iftar, we ask that all meats brought be both halal and zabiha. These types of meats can be purchased from local stores and you may contact us for further questions.

Additionally, Muslims are forbidden to consume any kinds of pig such as pork, bacon, lard or ham, they are also forbidden to consume alcoholic beverages or substances including foods and sauces that may contain this.
