    School Play Audition Bootcamp!

Do you have a child that is interested in musical theater, but feeling nervous about auditioning? You're not alone! The audition process can be nerve wracking, but feeling confident with your audition material and knowing what to expect can turn those nerves into excitement! Come join us during a two day audition prep weekend where your child will learn the ins and outs of singing, dancing, acting, as well as theater etiquette, auditions, and public speaking. Whether it's their first leap into the world of theater, or they are a school play pro, we guarantee a fun and educational adventure for all experience levels!

This program takes place on July 20th, from 9AM-3PM, and July 21st, from 9AM-3PM.

Children ages 7-14 of any experience level are welcome to attend!

    • A folder FULL of personalized audition material, including songs, monologues, theater terminology, and pro tips for future auditions!
    • Two snacks are provided by us each day!
    • Each student will receive kind and constructive feedback, hands on help with their audition piece, and learn the ins and outs of theater terminology and etiquette!
    • While performing for others can be intimidating, having the opportunity to perform for peers in a positive and inclusive setting works wonders with helping to build their confidence up!

In an effort to keep this program accessible, our pricing is set at just $16 dollars and some change per hour.

    Our Daily Schedules!

Our first day of class will begin at 9am with fun name and theater games to help all of our students get to know each other and feel comfortable as a group! After that, we will talk as a group and share how we are feeling about auditioning and work to help soothe any concerns they may have about what their school's audition is expecting from them. Then, we will work with the song or monologue they have chosen to perform so it highlights their strengths! After our lunch break, we will begin breaking down their audition pieces bit by bit to help our students feel comfortable and confident with every part of their audition. The rest of the day will be filled with theater acting games, beginners dance prep, and performing our audition pieces for one another, so by audition day, they'll feel prepared and excited to show off their skills! Our day wraps up at 3pm, parents pick up.

During our second day of class, we will warm up with more acting games, vocal warm ups, and review the basics of dance! Then we will review what we worked on yesterday and solidify the blocking and acting choices they would like to show off during their audition. After lunch, we will circle back to soothe any concerns or nerves they may be feeling, and get right back into performing our audition pieces for one another to practice the changes we have made and get everyone feeling solid with their performances. Then we will go over audition etiquette, what to look for when choosing an audition piece, and what a director is looking for when seeing an audition. Oftentimes, a director is not looking for the best singer or dancer, they are looking for someone who has fun while they perform and is excited about being part of a team!
