About this event

  • 4 days 1 hour

This active workshop gives children the opportunity to use theater to play-test social situations in a team-building setting.Social-emotional situations can sometimes feel overwhelming for children, especially those in grades 3-6. Scene work is the foundation of acting, and it's a team effort. This five-session class (June 17-21, 2024 from 5-6pm) will focus on team-building, creativity, and improvisational skills, culminating in the children writing and performing scenes for family and friends. This class is designed to accommodate both neurotypical students and those with a variety of needs including ADHD, Autism, and Social Anxiety.

Imagine how difficult it can be navigating the first day of school. Where should I sit? Who should I talk to? What do I say to sound cool? Students will explore tons of scenarios and create - as a team- the ultimate How to Survive the First Day of School (bullies included) Theatrical Guide. Watch your your child's excitement as they practice conquering first day jitters, peer conflict, and self advocacy for the delight of a live, supportive audience of friends and family as the culmination of their 5 day journey!
