A1 Day1 Productions is a putting on a two-part workshop series called “Scene & Heard”, geared at indie filmmakers and enthusiasts alike and guess what? It’s all about not sucking at sound and cinematography. Yeah, we said it. If you’ve ever thought, “Hey, my movie feels like I filmed it inside a potato,” then congratulations, you’re our target audience. Or maybe you’ve thought to yourself, “I’m pretty good”, that’s cool, we’ve got something for you, too.
- Beginner Workshops (May 18) Perfect for the fresh-faced and the “I-don’t-need-lights” crowd. We’ll cover the ABCs of sound and shooting, turning your potato-quality projects into... well, at least a solid carrot. Price: $20/person, a small price to pay for salvation from the land of cringe.
- Advanced Workshops (Cinematography on May 25 & Sound on May 26): For the “I’ve-seen-at-least-three-YouTube-tutorials” veterans. We dive deep into the magic of making your work look and sound like it wasn’t produced by a pack of raccoons. What a weird thing to say. A production by raccoons sounds pretty amazing, actually. Price: $40/person, which is less than you’d spend on regret after watching your unedited footage.
Each workshop day is a wild ride from setup to wrap-up, peppered with networking that’s actually fun and sessions that’ll make you think, “Wow, I’m actually learning stuff!”
