SCELCapalooza 2024

SCELC was established in 1986 to develop resource-sharing among the libraries of private academic institutions in Southern California. Since its inception, SCELC has evolved to include all of California and is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation. SCELC represents 112 Member and 230+ affiliate library institutions.

Check back often for updates.L ibrarians attend free, but remember to register for each day that you plan to attend.Deans and Directors Symposium (Tuesday, February 27)A new event from 2023, the Deans and Directors Symposium and Reception provides opportunities for programming and networking geared towards the interests and concerns of SCELC Library Deans and Directors. Designated vendor representatives are invited to join and participate for specified portions of the Deans &amp; Directors Symposium and Reception.Vendor Day (Wednesday, February 28)Every year, SCELC Vendor Day draws over 200 librarians representing more than 90 libraries from California and beyond. It is always free for all librarians to attend, including our peers at academic, community college, and public libraries outside of SCELC. Vendors also lead their own sessions in concurrence with exhibits, which are valuable learning opportunities for librarians.V endor participation is by invite only. Email events@scelc.org for more information.Colloquium (Thursday, February 29)SCELC Colloquium was inaugurated in 2006 to provide a dedicated forum to discuss current issues in the field of electronic resource licensing, digital librarianship, the role of social networks in libraries, and more. Reserved for librarians and staff of <a href="https://scelc.org/institutions" title="https://scelc.org/institutions" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SCELC Member &amp; Affiliate institutions</a>, Colloquium presents lightning talks and panels of speakers recognized for their expertise on a particular topic. All SCELC librarians are encouraged to attend Colloquium, which is free of charge and includes breakfast and lunch.
