Scavenger Hunt & Assemblage Art

Bring your “I Spy” skills to this workshop as we create scavenger hunt rules and discover nearby materials to transform into assemblage artworks. In this class, we will take inspiration from assemblage artists ranging from Louise Nevelson to the bowerbird. As our workspace for this workshop, the Drawing Herd installation will transform into our gallery space to display our found sculptures and drawings to share. Come ready to explore and curate a collaborative group show!

Organized by

Drawing Herd is an observational workshop series hosted by Coco Allred. Taking place in downtown Seattle and parks across King County, the project aims to give participants new ways to cultivate attention with particular emphasis on the bioregion and historical context of each site. Each class is co-taught with special guests whose expertise ranges from parkour tricking to choreography to atmospheric science.

All classes are free and supplies are provided!

The 2024 series is funded by the Downtown Seattle Association, the City of Bellevue, and the City of Sammamish.
