2-Day Scan and Point Cloud processing using TBC Training Class

Scanning is becoming increasingly popular within the geospatial community. This class will emphasize processing and generation of quality CAD deliverables from scanned point cloud data. It will also include actual field data collection using one of Trimble’s popular instruments, such as the versatile SX10 scanning total station. Data processing will be done using Trimble’s TBC office software. Topics to include:Office operations:<ul><li>Importing, viewing &amp; working with scan data in Trimble Business Center</li><li>Registering “scan station” data</li><li>Creating, classifying &amp; isolating scan “regions”</li><li>Generating CAD deliverables, including points, lines &amp; surfaces</li><li>Exporting quality deliverables in various formats</li></ul>Field operations:<ul><li>Understanding SX10 operations and Trimble Access scanning menus</li><li>Defining scan parameters and cloud densities </li><li>Maximizing field efficiency</li><li>Leveraging “scan station” and unregistered setups</li></ul>Class will consist of lecture, group discussion &amp; hands-on operation. Course handouts, sample data and digital resource information will be provided. Prior experience may be helpful but is not required.Important! To participate in the office scan processing portion, students will need to bring a suitable laptop PC meeting necessary system requirements for TBC. Software download links and 30-day TBC demo codes will be issued to all registered attendees prior to class; students are urged to install &amp; activate beforehand (installation &amp; licensing tech support will NOT be available day-of-class).
