- What is Government Contracting: Understand the basics of government contracting, including what it is, who the buyers are, and why it’s a valuable opportunity for small businesses.
- The Federal Marketplace: Learn how the U.S. government buys goods and services, the types of contracts used, and the key federal agencies involved in procurement.
- Small Business Participation & Set-Asides: Explore how the government sets aside contracts for small and disadvantaged businesses, and get introduced to programs like 8(a), HUBZone, and WOSB/EDWOSB.
- Registration and Getting Started: Learn the essential steps to enter the federal marketplace, including how to register in SAM.gov, get a UEI number, identify your NAICS codes, and create a capability statement.
- Finding and Responding to Opportunities: Discover tools like SAM.gov, FPDS-NG, and USAspending.gov for finding opportunities, and gain a basic understanding of RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Next Steps and Resources: Get connected with local PTACs, SBA offices, and other support organizations that help small businesses navigate and succeed in government contracting.
