Or you can attend just to get to know the people behind this program!</p><h2>About the Save the Elms Program</h2><p>Sacramento's elms are under attack, and the City of Trees needs you to watch over these beloved giants in their fight against Dutch elm disease!</p><p>This town used to be home to over 20,000 elms that lined our streets and defined our skyline, and now we have less than 2,000. With a very small and flexible time commitment over the course of the summer, you can help save the trees that are still standing and slow the spread of Dutch elm disease.</p><p>Join our team of community scientists by attending a virtual training from the comfort of your own home. Learn how you can monitor these trees for symptoms of Dutch elm disease using an app on your smartphone, and help us preserve their legacy of cooling shade, cleaner air, and irreplaceable beauty.</p>
