Why is this rally happening?

Because of elected officials’ deliberate alignment with multiple individuals convicted of harming our community. Auburn’s citizens did not choose to create a community where convicted child rapists or murderers are made welcome by leaders, while tax paying business owners and residents live in fear.

What if I don’t go to church, or don’t believe in God, or I have a different faith?

This rally is for everyone in the Auburn community. While it is being planned and led by pastors of local Christian churches, we welcome ALL of our diverse community members to attend and unite around the hope of a fresh start.

Question 3

Will the event be LGBTQ+ friendly?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we really mean ALL of the community. Our LGBTQ+ community members are welcome and wanted as a part of this community event.

Question 4

Is this a family friendly event?

Accepted Answer

This is a peaceful event, and you are welcome to bring children as you feel would be age appropriate. Be warned that there will be discussion around difficult topics of harm in our city including youth violence, murder, and child rape.

Is this a political event?

Accepted Answer

While we are demanding accountability and transparency from leaders including elected officials, local non-profits, and others in positions of power, this event is not about a political party or person. It is about changing the allegiances and policies of our city leaders so unity/healing can begin.

Should we bring signs?

Accepted Answer

Signs are a great way to share any message around safety that you want Auburn leaders to see. Please keep them PG, with a focus on unity and accountability.

What about the weather?

Please check the forecast and dress accordingly. The rally will take place, rain or shine, and is planned to end before dark.

Will it be safe?

Accepted Answer

This is designed to be a peaceful event, focused on safety through unity. We do not expect agitators, but if someone seems to be looking for conflict, DO NOT ENGAGE. Make sure to stand in the plaza, or on sidewalks, keeping a walkway and the road clear.
