Learn the building blocks of creating delicious homemade sauces that will wow your family and friends! During this class you'll learn about the traditional Mother Sauces, Daughter Sauces, and some of the new Mother Sauces as well. Although this class is a little heavier on lecture learning than our other classes, you will certainly get to try your hand at several of the sauces discussed, and you will leave with an excellent base of knowledge and a handful of nutritious recipes to experiment with your new saucy skills!

On the Menu:

  • Béchamel
  • Mornay
  • Espagnole
  • Pesto

We will use the mornay to make creamy macaroni and cheese dish and there will also be some mix-ins and a salad available for lunch. Please let us know when you register if you have any diet restrictions, especially any allergies to nuts and/or milk products!

Class fee of $60.00 per participant includes lunch of all dishes made.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Cancellation policy: Due to the small class sizes and nature of planning for fresh ingredients, refund requests made less than 2 weeks before the class date may not be accepted. Note that refunds may not include the Eventbrite processing fee.

Frequently asked questions

What if I have a food allergy/restriction?

The Garden Kitchen recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including: various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please contact us as soon as possible to inquire.

Can I bring my kid with me?

Due to the nature of cooking, which may involve sharp knives, hot pans, etc., we ask that participants leave their children at home. The exception to this is our Family Cooking Classes, which an adult and child may take together, and which are designed with youth in mind.

What should I wear?

We ask that you wear comfortable, casual clothing and flat, comfortable, closed-toed shoes, with long hair tied back. Please do not wear sandals. Aprons and headscarves will be provided.

What is the refund policy?

Can I buy a gift card for someone else?
